Another one bites the dust…
Yet another weekend essentially over. Sunday afternoon is always the most depressing time of the week. Its like the end of the holiday.
Nonetheless, a quiet, lazy afternoon is probably what we all need - so after buying a few new DVD’s this weekend, I have decided to park my caboose on a nice comfy chair and spend the remainder of the weekend watching mindless action films and perhaps an exciting thriller or two!
It was not only me who had decided to spend the afternoon just chilling out.
Cassie had taken up the usual spot on the tiles in the foyer. From this vantage point, she can see upstairs, out the front door (monitoring the outside for intruders, other local canines, birds that should dare perch on the trees, the next door neighbours cat and all those those foolish enough to walk on our front lawn) and into the backyard (ready to bark away the Currawongs, Noisy Minors and protect the last few biscuits she leaves in her dinner bowl - her snack for later). Of course all of this can only be accomplished when she is not caught up in slumber.
‘Tis a tough life.
As the Sun set this afternoon, I happened to be driving home from Swansea with my camera on the passenger seat.. the purples were quite amazing - unusual for this time of year - something I’d have expected to see in the midst of Winter, not the beginning of Autumn.
I would not have thought this morning, after waking up to cloudy skies and light, drizzly rain, that the afternoon would have ended up so beautiful. A fresh breeze washed over the boat ramp from where I chose to get my shot… that icy edge to the air like the end of Summer, a taste of things to come in the following months.
Purple twilight, sky light.
Tonight’s viewing starts with The Transporter 2. Most of you who have seen it will know the raw action content, the black Lamborghini Murcielago Barchetta, the leggy blonde sporting twin automatic, laser-sighted pistols… all a perfect combination for getting into film mode. Anything penned by Luc Besson is worth a watch too, it has to be said. And while I’m on the subject of the Transporter 2, I think I much prefer the European Poster for the release!
Once finished, I will be firing up Layer Cake, the Daniel Craig thriller completely new to me, but one my mates keep telling me I just have to see… so I bit the bullet today and bought it on special at JB Hi-Fi.
The finale tonight is From Hell.. the Johnny Depp/Heather Graham thriller. I watched this movie years ago just after its release in 2001, but to be brutally honest, I can’t remember much about it, except that I enjoyed it. So the 2-Disc special edition for $9.98 was enough to sell me on it today.
And if I get time, I may even watch Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang.
To top it all off, I’ve decided that I’m ordering in a pizza tonight. Supreme. With all the extras.
‘Tis a tough life.
