How long do you bet…
It’ll take to get a fresh stone chip on my brand new windscreen?
Looking at prior experience, it lasted a fair while before the first significant ‘BANG’ left a lasting impression on the last ’screen. The bonnet had taken most of the hits prior to that moment.
I truly can’t believe the difference it has made. I don’t consider my driving to be overly conducive or prone to general windscreen destruction, but the odd chips and cracks from passing or leading cars are pretty unavoidable over time, especially considering the state of some of our debris-ridden roads. However, the difference this makes - and what you learn to put up with is just incredible.
Now, I can drive into the Sun without the windscreen looking like a sheet of ripped sandpaper. It lacks the ‘blasted’ look of yesterday. And what a pleasant change it is. You can actually drive into the Sun with confidence. You can actually see properly out of the front ’screen now.
I’d love to - as the hilarious woman at O’Briens Glass stated yesterday ‘take it home, park it in a little bubble and just look at it’, but unfortunately my budget doesn’t stretch to purchasing another MINI for the daily runabout and weekend drives.
So its back to the road I go. The world of loose stones, debris, dirt, sand and tar.
Wish me luck folks.
