This morning I got out the old power-drill kit, measuring tape and a piece of paper + pen. A seemingly harmless combination, save for when they are in the hands of an evil mastermind.

An evil mastermind I am not, so the tools were resigned to a boring couple of hours of unscrewing old shelves and lounge footings.

While these aren’t the exciting plans for world domination, they are the plans for an exciting new room. My second room - now that the Brother has moved out, I got dibs in early and collected the title deed on Luke Lane and immediately started building.

Pass go. Spend $200.

Now that all of belongings are out, I’ve been able to start getting some order and planning the room design. Today, I pretty much cemented the idea in my mind. And after we moved the lounge in, it looked like it was all going to work and I’d have enough space.

Its nothing exciting, and doors don’t open from the sides revealing hidden beer fridges, it doesn’t recline, it doesn’t massage your back at the push of a button and it certainly doesn’t have a modern style, but for all intensive purposes, I should be able to watch DVD’s from it just fine.

Next up is the desk. Going to source a nice computer desk to fill the gap between the lounge and the near wall so the Server has somewhere to go (outside of my room) meaning I’ll have the run the home network through there too. Or go wireless.. but I’m not terribly keen on that to be honest.

Its slow progress, but I’ve been pretty busy lately! Hopefully get a chance to have a look at desks sometime this week. There’s a place just around the corner from work too, so might be able to pop out during my lunch hour one day.
