Hunter Valley Gardens - Trip 2 (Part 2)

(cont)

The Bees again at work. Can’t believe how hard these little dudes are to photograph. Constantly on the move, never stopping for a single moment in any spot. This was pretty much the regular angle you’d see them in. Buried bum deep in the Roses!

Touch of blue sky! Unbelievable. And in Australia! Who’d a thunk it! :P

Made our way down to the foothills and parked our cabooses by the Lake, just in front of the waterfall. Perfect time for a little rest and some photos.

After a quick stop at the food shop (and two lovely ice blocks later) I decided to strap on the Macro lens and get up close and personal with some of the Roses (and later on, some insects of course!)

We spotted these two a little later on. Now, we’re not entirely sure what they’re up to here.. I mean it looks obvious doesn’t it? But there’s no.. well.. connection. So.. I really don’t know what to say here, but because this is a ‘work safe’ blog and because I’d rather not figure I’ve just intruded and photographed an intimate and very private moment between two Ladybugs, I’ll say that they were merely giving each other piggy-backs on a leaf :)

This one was looking for a piggy-back partner :)

A nasty wasp probably hunting out a bee or something else innocent for a meal.

A nasty… oh wait.. no, its Katie! :) Lovely, sweet, innocent Katie who’s just had a fabulous day at the Hunter Valley Gardens.

And that concludes the coverage of this installment of the HVG tour!

  del.icio.us this!

Haha! More great pics. The Ladybugs aren’t doing anything nasty…They are merely just playing! Besides they are both ladies!!
I have to say, the wasp looks really cool!!! I could really see that being in a movie as the baddy! Well have you ever seen ant bully? Wasps are in that movie and they look pretty cool in that! But you know how I feel about wasps. They hurt… :(
I love the pink and red flowers. The macro lens does these flowers a lot of justice eh. They look extraordinary! It makes you think all flowers look that beautiful! I think I want that pink one framed and put somewhere in my room. It’s really nice. And I want the purple one that you took too for Amy for her birthday.
When I came home, I said to mum “Mum, I have something to tell you. Please don’t be mad.” You see, and in saying that she probably thinks I’m about to tell her I’m pregnant or something so I lessen the blow by saying well, I broke your pot purri holder in my bathroom. And she said “Oh is that all. Well I don’t care!” So you see, I got out of it! Good news huh! She said that she thinks Alana gave it to her. Very replaceable. :P

    Katie,

Was happy with most of the photos. Considering the changing day, the lack of light and such, they didn’t come out too badly! Especially as some shots were requiring pretty high ISO’s (or low 1/50th odd shutters!).. must have had steady hands yesterday :P

Sure we can work out a framing for those ones! :)

PMSL @ you with the Pot Pourri holder.. lucky bugger!

    Bec,
We sure did! And yeah, very happy the weather held out too.. There were a few moments where I said to Kate we were going to get rained on.. but it held out for us!

Thanks!! :D You never know.. might do something with all these photos one day! Hehe..

    PMSL.. weird eh :P

Yeah, I love that shot too.. :)
